Bring Your Own Forms to ProcessMaker

Every organization uses forms and usually lots of them - travel authorization request forms, employee onboarding or offboarding forms, change request forms, purchase order forms - the list goes on and on.

Unfortunately, most organizations stop there and think that they are now a digital enterprise. The truth is that digital web forms only solve a small part of the digital transformation journey. The form is just the starting point for a business process; it is the full end to end business process that must be digitized in order to reap the rewards of digital transformation.

Most business processes consist of more than forms. As part of the process there are business rules, approvals by management, integrations to backend ERPs, integrations to other cloud systems, and more. Only by looking at the full business process and seeing where you can eliminate bottlenecks, blindspots, and manual data entry, can businesses discover important gains in efficiency and competitiveness.

Now, thanks to the new integration between Formstack and ProcessMaker, digital Formstack forms can be “plugged in” and used seamlessly inside a full digital process in ProcessMaker. Users can now take the beautiful Formstack forms that they have already built and digitized, and use them as the native forms inside a process that is built and automated using ProcessMaker’s award-winning drag and drop process designer and workflow engine.

ProcessMaker is ideal for orchestrating and automating an end to end business process. There is no coding required to combine ProcessMaker with Formstack. Both the Formstack formbuilder and the ProcessMaker process builder are what we call “no code” or “low code” tools. These are designed to allow business analysts and subject matter experts to design and automate processes. An analyst can determine which Formstack form needs to be filled out first, second, and third as part of the process. Pre-filled data in one Formstack form can easily pass from one form to the next, or from one form into a third party system. The same or different data may flow into a different Formstack form later in the process.

The end result is the seamless movement of data between forms, people, and internal and external systems. Perhaps the most important part of this integration is the performance reporting and alerting. Once formstack forms are integrated with ProcessMaker, managers will immediately have access to limitless reporting and charting. We can now create reports which tell us when we are not meeting our Service Level Agreement (SLAs). In fact, we can even setup real-time alerts with the internal alerting engine or with external alerting systems like Slack, SMS, and Whatsapp. These alerts can tell users when a process is taking too long according to goals which have been established.

Furthermore, when we want to change a rule or some data in our process, we do not have to wait for developers to code it. As we mentioned both Formstack and ProcessMaker offer easy-to-use no-code builders where no coding is required. Automate daily tasks? Check. Collect customer data? Check. Everything is now possible in your business process.

From start to finish, Formstack is painless and easy to use. And now, this intuitive form builder is further enhanced by integrating with ProcessMaker. Connecting with ProcessMaker facilitates true agility for your organization. In fact, this integration allows us to save data from Formstack's forms to other systems such as Databases or CRMs using Processmaker's data connectors. Empower your users with ProcessMaker's award-winning low-code iBPMS and workflow automation platform.
