The Higher Education Account Executive (AE) role will seek new business opportunities in higher education by identifying and contacting potential customers. Also, the Higher Education AE will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth. The ideal candidate will have an energetic, can-do attitude, be comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment, networking aptitude, fearless attitude, and a hunter mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Generate Higher Education leads directly (web / social media search, attending Higher Education industry events)
  • Connect to Higher Education decision-makers by cold emails, cold calls, or face to face
  • Set up discovery meetings or calls between prospective clients
  • Deliver company presentations to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Qualify leads and define follow-up steps according to their likeliness to buy
  • Prepare and discuss proposal (scope, price, perks) with C-levels or decision makers
  • Report to the Director of Higher Education sales on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
  • Stay up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans

Functions

  • Prospect into targeted accounts via cold call, email, and social strategies
  • Drive sales growth and pipeline through setting up and running qualified meetings
  • Maintain and organize an annual book of business with a focus on achieving quota
  • Produce creative strategies for targeting decision-makers at prospect accounts to book sales appointments and influence company revenue

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred but not required
  • Previous working experience as an outbound sales rep for at least 3 years in technology companies
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
