Batch Case Routing Plug-in

The ProcessMaker batch case routing plug-in is a feature that allows BPM case routing en masse without the need to open each case first.  This powerful feature is a very useful tool in approval based processes and workflow case routing and allows users to route multiple cases at the same time.

In many approval based processes, there are many users needing to route multiple cases to a single supervisor or manager for approval.  This manager is required to open the case and review the important information before making a “yes or no” decision regarding the approval.  If these cases form part of the same process with the same type of data being submitted several times per day, this method of case routing can become a very monotonous and time consuming task, even if using an automated workflow.

The ideal solution to this type of case routing is to view all of the relevant data required to make a decision, and apply the decision to the case, such as approve all cases without the need to open each individual form, then simultaneously route cases to the next user.  This is where batch case routing becomes an important tool.

Using BPM Batch Case Routing

Administrators can choose fields or variables from their forms in a process, and display the contents or options of those fields to the user in the Home area of ProcessMaker.  The user can now look at a complete list of cases, review the information contained within the case and then select a field to complete, such as a ‘yes or no’ drop down which will dictate the case routing.

A tool such as this is beneficial to supervisors who receive multiple approval requests from users, to save time by making informed decisions before routing a case.
